[It has. been three hours since Sanji found his baby tiger. Three entire hours of him chasing her around like a nervous father who expects her to sneak out after curfew. Eventually he'll need to cook, take a better scope of the camp, actually make himself useful...
But until then it's just him hugging a surprisingly patient tiger cub on the cabin floor, squishing his cheek on top of her head. Cooing stupidly. What a disaster.]
If that mutt tries to pull a fast one on ya, come tell me, okay?
[By the time Percy makes it to Fish Cabin, he hears the sounds of soft half-barks and immediately bursts in. It's why he sees Sanji on the floor with a whole-ass tiger cub and he takes a moment to blink in surprise as his small furry companion immediately barks upon seeing him and nyooms to the door.]
Mrs. O'Leary! [He's also crouching down to pet the dog, but uh, hm.] Did...you just call my dog a mutt?
But if it's a Mrs. then I spoke outta turn. Sorry about that.
[he says, specifically apologizing to the lady in the room. A gentleman trashcan through and through. As for Nami, the barking causes her ears to peel back -- what a noisy companion -- but it's not really fear driving her, especially since Sanji doesn't seem all that fussed.]
[One who is growing increasingly more wiggly as time goes by, until Sanji relinquishes his hold and allows her to roam. She's fairly young-looking too, still sporting vivid blue eyes and awkward little legs]
Picked her up in the castle. Was a gift from my last jailor.
After being MIA last night, Sanji is in the cabin! Sitting at the table.
... With a whole ass plate of food he's slowly but surely working through, though his expression is pinched with thunder clouds. On occasion he'll offer Nami a little nibble, but oof. He does not look to be in a good mood.]
[He barges back into the cabin at one point or another, and upon seeing Sanji with his whole-ass plate of food, he furrows his eyebrows together as he closes the door behind him.]
[Ha ha, weren't they talking about the heightened stakes yesterday?
Joke's on them because now it's worse, and Sanji takes refuge in their shared cabin for a time, trying to gather up his thoughts. His expression is... pensive without anyone to see him.
Though the moment Percy enters, his eyebrows shoot up]
[He enters the cabin silently and shuts the door, not at all surprised to see Sanji there. The question also doesn't surprise him, and while his own expression looks mostly angry there's...something akin to a lost expression, too.]
...is that really how it's gonna go each week, you think? [So. Not super great.]
Yeah, that part's new. Usually the executioner walks away without having to worry about if they'll die, too. And what was with the rock? Why not something else?
[And here he is returning from a walk with Mrs. O'Leary which means she's immediately bounding to flop by one of the beds and Percy's...going to blink at Sanji curiously.]
I'm kind of impressed she's staying still for that.
Not if you feed her solid food by hand first. Maybe she'll adjust to that pretty fast and it won't even be a big deal. [He sits on one of the bottom bunks though and pats the space next to him to invite Mrs. O'Leary up.] Guess I was lucky Mrs. O'Leary already had a routine and everything by the time she was left to me.
[percy is a whole ass mood right now, and Sanji, sitting on his bed, more or less grunts in agreement.]
It's because we've got no shitty leads until the final inning -- assuming we get a lead at all. So the first person whose name is cast out gets sent to the execution ring.
[Looking so incredibly tired]
... We gotta do more while we're waiting for the investigation teams to come back.
Like what though? We can't really start anywhere without knowing what evidence we're working with, and if we can't look for evidence until the trial itself that's already putting us at a disadvantage. And talking about curfew only gets us so far.
Frankly, I think we take too long waiting on the body checks.
And know the ugly side of that is we get suspicious of the first weird-lookin' wound we see, but at least we'd have something to compare to the moment the teams got back.
[It's raining and yet Sanji's out here by the lake. On the other hand, Percy's also out by the lake so what does that say about them? If he minds the water, he doesn't seem to say so. Instead, he's staring ahead even as he approaches.]
[... Ah, the look Sanji gives Percy when he hears his voice.
It's probably a bad decision given what keeps happening this week, but that is exactly why the chef had tried to hole up by the lake -- a last ditch attempt short of hiding in a counselor's room for safety.
Eye-contact or not, it's gonna get ugly. So he just stares mutely at the sky when their surroundings shift into a white chamber, where regal two thrones sit at the very end.
... Whaaaatever. Sanji doesn't move as the rain continues to hit him. Percy can drown him for all he cares if he's got a problem with this.]
[...ah. Well, since Sanji's staring at the sky that means at least he doesn't have to deal with anything Percy might accidentally spawn but he pauses for a brief moment to try and process that.
Strangely though, he doesn't look like he's upset? He actually looks sort of thoughtful.]
...it's funny. She said she wanted you to choose and move with your own two feet, but it kinda doesn't sound like she gave you much of a choice at all.

Tch, guess this cabin's gonna be a regular zoo.

So I noticed. Could be worse though. Normally she's a lot bigger than this. [...but uh.] I'm not crazy, right? That's a tiger.

Man, where were you last night?

[There's no point in lying, Sanji has already decided.
That said:]
If you see me walking weird, don't worry about it. I pulled a dumbass stunt and it came back to bite me.

[... No point in beating around the bush, here. His eyes follow Percy, mouth now pressed into a tired line]
And with the way shit is set up, the murderer isn't guaranteed to die. They can keep living so long as they win their duel.

[It was more brutal that way.]

And Nami is so greedy, she has both of her paws over Sanji's hands to KEEP HIM THERE while she drinks down her food]

I'm kind of impressed she's staying still for that.

[Nami willing to put up with Sanji's smothering so long as she is fed properly.]
Though I gotta be careful... if she gets too used to a bottle, it's gonna be a pain in the ass getting her to eat solid food.

[With a quiet, sloping shrug]
Not a fair one. I mean, would've cost me everything -- my life and my world -- but I could've walked away.
I won't blame Dragon-sama for me doing what I did.
