Well, it sucked.
I already mentioned my family wanted to marry me off, but before that, they just didn't want me around. So I ran away and became an apprentice on a floating restaurant.
... 'Course, the first one sank and I got stuck on a shitty rock in the middle of the ocean for a bit, but. Still better than being royalty.
... The restaurant I was on was attacked by pirates.
I was a kid -- and stupid -- and picked a fight because I thought I was gonna die, even though the pirates hadn't laid a hand on anyone.
Well, got my ass handed to me, lemme tell you. They didn't try to kill me, just got me out of the way, but... a storm hit, and both of the ships sank.
Me and the pirate captain were the only survivors. Got washed up on top of a rock that was too smooth on the sides, so we couldn't even climb down to fish. Our only choice was to wait for a ship to pass by and rescue us.
[... A pause. He sighs, and continues]
It... took a while. Three months. In the meantime, the captain gave me a small bag with food in it, and kept a larger bag for himself. When I was... desperate-- [Starving and dying] -- I tried to steal the shit from him, and just... found a bunch of gold. The lying bastard had given me near everything.
