... Oi. Any of you New Feathers interested in cooking?

[This rather straight and subdued question comes from someone who hasn't looked at his journal in what feels like a long, long time, let alone felt the desire or necessity to make a public statement. And he knows it. The fact alone almost makes him break off before he finishes.]

I'm still down a few cooks at Seventh Heaven, so I'd appreciate any shitty help about now.

[But there, he's finished. After a moment's thought, he closes the journal and heads out for the day - to Seventh Heaven, of course, but only for a few hours, and then perhaps a walk later since it suits his fancy. There's plenty of thinking to be had no matter where he goes. And the entire time outdoors, he reminds himself that it's been chilly for a few weeks now, this isn't anything new.

He just... missed it happening.

The item shop, the clothing store, the forest, the bar... it doesn't really matter to him where he ends up. He's spent more than enough time to himself in the house, avoiding friend and acquaintance alike. Today will be spent remembering what feeling normal is like, and he's okay with searching a little to find out.]

[He turns, offering up the barest of smiles at Marco's approach, and wipes his hands with the towel tucked into his pants.]

Right over here. [He jerks his head a few feet to the left, where the chef has set up a handy-dandy station, fully supplied and ready for Marco's interview]

The rules are simple. Cook something and impress me. [Super simple, yes.] I'm judging you on taste, efficiency, and presentation.

Use whatever's in the fridge, aaaaand... [Glancing at the watch on his wrist] You got an hour.

[Marco hesitates briefly. When it comes to trying to impress someone, he usually likes to be flashy and go all out. But of course, that was also a lot riskier. He wants to learn new recipes, not accidentally mess up by trying too hard. He whistles confidently to himself and skims the ingredients available. Let's see. Haddock, orange juice, mikan, sugar snap peas... perfect. Now if he can just find some honey he'll be in business. Marco doesn't explain what he's doing. He just sets about to fillet it, and get the veggies cooking. Along with some rice for a stir fry, some chopped carrots for added color. Hm... he seems to be missing something.]

Probably best with a red wine, what do you think?

[It could also use a dessert. No raspberries in the fridge though, and more mikan might be redundant? Maybe just a light sugar cookie... assuming he even has time after the fish.]
