[Yasusada's eyes widen for a minute, before he narrows his gaze, thinking. If their plans were purely focused on revenge, this would change things rather drastically--but it's a tactical decision, so he just files this information away. (Everyone's always telling him to gather more of it, to learn more about a situation. Well, this counts.)
He glances at Nami--but a tiger is far enough removed from a "cat" that he doesn't flinch at the sight of her. He does, though, turn back to the horse, resting his free hand on her nose to stroke it.]
So the wolves probably weren't connected... [MAYBE THEY WERE JUST SOME RANDOM FUCKIN WOLVES. But, still.] He's a threat, then.
[The chances of Yasusada slipping free this weekend are slim, given that Yasusada's not inclined to do anything disrespectful or risk using an unfamiliar weapon, but if he does... is this something they'll need to continue?]
He's a potential complication we might need to consider. But honestly, this shit goes beyond him.
[The floor is dirty, but Sanji doesn't hesitate in sitting criss-cross on it, allowing the tiger to sit in his lap if she wants. She's... heh. She's getting big, he notes, not quite the infant she was at the start of this new game. Big enough to eat meat and give a happy stretch as she makes herself comfortable on her owner's lap, her paws flopping over his knees]
We're getting to the point where we'll have to decide how much we wanna share, and to who. Holding out will start making us look suspicious.
[... And yes, he knows he has no business talking about the future when they've already--
...
A pause, and Sanji drops his face to stare at the ground, a swallow lodged in his throat. Right. He's not supposed to think about that, for Yasusada's sake.
Just gotta continue on like there's gonna be a tomorrow]
We'll... think about what we gotta do next week, alright?
[That's true. For as much as Yasusada hated Akechi on a personal level, some part of it was always about the game itself. Its unfair rules, the spectacle it made of death, . It's much the same, here. That's just one of many reasons that Yasusada has believed, since the first death in the castle, that anything delivered at the hands of a true warrior would be a kinder, more respectful death.
He'd been so, so relieved to have his final wish granted, to get the chance to die in Okita's hands, serving him until the end. He can't have that much of a kindness here, but only because Okita's still sleeping, waiting for them to do what they must.
Next week, huh...
Yasusada smiles, reaching up to scratch the horse's ears briefly, before he steps away.]
Right. I'll make sure to tell you if anyone's asking questions like that, then.
[He probably won't blatantly lie, because he knows how bad he is at that. But he has no qualms with telling people he doesn't want to say anything. Which is suspicious in and of itself, but--well. The longer this stupid game goes on, the more everything starts to seem suspicious.]
no subject
