I only managed to learn one other person's team--well, two, but Stephanie-kun doesn't count. [He only asked her because he was worried. PURPLES? PLEASE STOP DYING??] But I talked to Whoo-jii a little bit--he said their group broke into Kage-kun's cabin.
[He's not sure how much of this information Sanji already has, but what he does know is that Sanji's upset about the announcements. It's something else to focus on, at least for a little while.]
[Sanji has... been distracted by memory week, we shall say, and so hasn't been doing nearly the same legwork as normal. Which is why he looks immediately grateful for both this distraction and this info, giving a nod for Yams to continue talking if he's got more to share]
That's where they're keeping the bodies. Of the people who die here, I mean. [In a lovely little blood pool because Modao canon is just like this.] He said Kage-kun is someone from his home, so he recognized a lot of what they saw there.
[Sanji can probably guess that they also had to deal with Some Shit to get through to the actual cabin, so Yasusada will respect Wei Wuxian's privacy by only sharing the information that actually matters.] And he said that the directors are on our side.
[Which, to be fair, he thinks was probably made clear when they found out Purple Heart was from the boat, but still. It's good to have confirmation.]
[Which means Sanji will absolutely be talking to WWX at some point for that reason alone, but he still manages a nod of acceptance. Even if Sanji already knew the counselors were working their asses off to help them, the extra confirmation is nice]
Alright then. That accounts for the bodies. [Gruesome as fuck, but hey! Someone's gotta handle the job.
-- And then a pause? A delicate pause, as he glances over at Yasusada, considering, before he plunges onward. It won't do to baby him needlessly, he reminds himself.]
Any news on where the others are? [...] I mean, the people we thought we left behind in the castle.
[That's good, really. Yasusada likes Wei Wuxian, and he thinks Sanji would too. They'd work well together, he thinks. (He's a little frustrated with himself, for only gathering information from people that he likes--but it can't be helped. It's difficult, pressing down the restless urge to rush through things, but he's trying.)
The second question gives him pause--but he shakes his head, mouth turning downward.]
I'm not sure where she heard it, but Lili-kun said the directors could get to them. [Announcement Crew cite your sources challenge] I don't know for sure, but I think that means it's somewhere in the fog. [The only other alternative, as far as he knows, is Winter Wizard's cabin--which isn't impossible, but that's a hell of a lot of people to tuck away somewhere.]
... [Narrowing his gaze slightly at the mention of Lili -- not in irritation, just a narrowed sort of assessment. He'll have to talk to her later. Regardless, this is still shit he hadn't heard and that makes it valuable]
In the fog? Wouldn't be surprised... especially if the fog keeps receding the more weeks that go by.
[But there is a note of hope in Sanji's voice because of that; it means they're not wrong to keep the game going. The longer they tough it out, then maybe...]
Alright, last question for ya. Whose team did you find out?
I think they have to be. The only other option is another portal, somewhere. [But--he's hoping that even if that's the case, that access to it would be somewhere they could reach. If they're somewhere far away, on other buses or something... he doesn't know what he'll do.] Early on, I tried going into the fog with Kocho-kun. But it just sent us back to camp, the opposite side of where we'd left from. [Like they'd looped around, somehow. So wandering out into the fog didn't accomplish anything then, but that doesn't mean it never will. The directors and that being in the jade mask can navigate it, after all.
At the question, though, he refocuses, gripping the hilt of his sword.]
Yu-kun. Yin Yu. [He hesitates, but only for a minute--mostly because he doesn't want anyone to get hurt on accident, if Yin Yu's already spoken to other people this week. But it can't be helped.] He's on Yuki-kun's team. [He already mentioned that he learned Stephanie's too, but he doesn't bring that up, because he knows she's not in their considerations.] I know Whoo-jii's team too, but--I think he's important, on this side.
[Part of it is selfishness; he'd have a hard time, killing Wei Wuxian. But he means what he says. Wei Wuxian is strong, and an easy person to like.]
I don't know about Chuuya-kun, but I don't think Dazai-kun and Ash-kun are on Kage-kun's team. I'm not sure whose teams they are on, though. [So it'd be a 50/50 chance of getting a Heart, unless Sanji already knows.
There's a lot of bodies to investigate, tomorrow. And if they're talking people who'd work with them from the other side, he thinks they can probably count on Shinobu, and maybe Giyuu as well. If Jason was from Stephanie's home, he might be willing to work with her, too. But even with all of that...]
The dead, this week--I don't know any of their teams.
[Sanji considers everything Yasusada tells him, silent, a hand curled over his mouth with his eyes darkened in thought. He notes the beat of hesitation when it comes to outing Yin Yu, the sword's quickness to defend Wei Wuxian...
And when the chef finally lifts his head, coming out of his trance:]
Don't worry. I'm not going after Wei Wuxian unless there's no other choice. [And... well, frankly, given how the sword framed it, now Sanji assumes WWX is another Shadow. Hm] But as for Ash, I'm betting he's with Heart. The guy fits the kind of person they'd want on their side.
I already found out Jason was with Heart, too. That leaves Chuuya and Dazai... I'll work on figuring them out later.
[Folding his arms with a huff]
Giyuu was likely on Shadow or Winter's team -- doubt he was Heart's. And Percy, he was -- [a tired pause] He was Shadow's.
[So at least one person on Heart's team has died, but then its likely Shadow lost up to two of their team members, too. And though he doesn't say it, he has suspicions about what team Shinobu was on -- which only benefits their goal to keep the factions even.
For choosing to do nothing but bide their time, Sanji admits, this could have been a lot worse so far.]
We'll see how shit plays out this trial before planning our move on Sunday. It's gonna be chaotic as hell with five bodies to look over. Who knows who will get chosen for execution.
[He's not wrong, about Wei Wuxian. And, honestly, given how things are going--Yasusada doesn't mind dying for the cause, but if they're aiming for equality, someone from Winter Wizard's team might be their best choice.]
Tomioka-kun, I think he was on Kage-kun's team. Either that, or he was close to someone who was. [Shinobu, probably, given--everything. But he had a thorough knowledge of the items they'd received, so it's got to be one or the other. He tilts his head slightly, though.]
How do you think the teams were chosen? [He'd sort of assumed it was random, even though the journal in Purple Heart's cabin said that they'd chosen them. There's no way Yasusada knows who Black Shadows is, for instance.
As far as the trial goes, though... he brushes his bangs out of his face, considering.]
Beau-san said there were five people, where she stayed. I think the groups might be too large for our effects to mean anything. [They'd done their best to check each other, but there's no guarantee every time did the same--still, there's no discounting items or abilities. They should take it into account, he thinks, but maybe not waste too much time on it.]

Anyway, aside from that--]
