And it means it's time for Sanji to make his rounds, looking for his castle-mates. Assuming Yams is back in his cabin, that's the first place Sanji goes looking, armed with tea]
Oi, Yasusada. You in here?
[Knocking since he can't enter without being let in I DON'T THINK]
[I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT and even though Yasusada nyoomed for the directors post-trial, he is now in his cabin and perfectly willing to answer. He's bundled back up in his blanket because he's still sniffling, but he shuffles on back to let Sanji in!]
[looking immediately pleased by the sight of that blanket, and Sanji gives a nod of approval as he shuffles in. He's also going to hand off one of the tea cups to the other]
Drink that. It'll help with the shitty sniffles.
[And then, after closing the door with the back of his foot:]
[Yasusada can't say the thought didn't occur to him handwaves time, but he'd dismissed it, mostly because it had seemed, at the time, that multiple factors were stacking up against Ogata. Now, though, he blinks in surprise, before his brow furrows.]
Then, do you think it was done without using a power?
[He's not totally convinced that all the trails were irrelevant, but framing isn't a new concept, so.]
Could be. Or a power was used in a very specific way to fabricate the evidence they needed.
[Sanji can make shit outta thin air, but it's like Yams is thinking: framing is not a new concept. Anyone can be creative if given enough motivation and a bunch of tools at their disposal]
At this point, I'm more concerned we got a killer whose motives we don't understand. This could be a one-and-done deal, or after seeing how we handled this trial, they might be willing to kill again.
It could've copied something, or changed the direction... [Or, like others in the trial mentioned, it could've changed the shape of footprints, or--anything, honestly. There are too many variables right now.]
Do you think it's like the castle? They're working for someone? [A pause, and then--] I suppose it could've been an accident, but...
[Honestly he doubts anything that happens on Thursdays is an accident]
Even if it was an accident, the killer didn't come forward. So I think it's more likely that at best, they acted in self-defense. At worse, they knew damned well what they were doing.
[And besides, accidents aren't realistic week after week.]
[That, perhaps, is the most concerning part--whatever their reasoning, the killer didn't come forward, and didn't try at all to make it obvious that they were guilty.]
[It's not really surprising, but--it's still not a good thing to hear. If anyone does have their suspicions, outside of the remaining three, they haven't said anything to anyone that would pass it on to Yasusada.]
I don't think it's safe to stay in the cabins anymore. [That is, honestly, probably the most valuable piece of information he learned this trial.] I'll speak to the others in my cabin, but if we don't have any effects, then it'll be harder to defend ourselves.

Come in, Sanji-kun.

Goddamn, we fucked that one up...

[He'll take it, since he still feels pretty crappy, though it's fortunately a mild cold. HE'S NEVER BEEN SICK BEFORE OKAY this is awful.
They, uh. They sure did that though, yeah. Yasusada sits back down on his bed, looking into his cup.]
We were focused on the wrong thing from the beginning, weren't we?

[...]
I'll tel you this much, though, and for now, it's for your ears only. None of the evidence was fabricated by me.
[returns to this thread now that I dropped the bomshell in the other.]

[And it. hurts his pride to admit this, but Sanji won't gas himself up without any reason.]
I'll be keeping an eye out, of course, but for now, I think it's best we just prepare for the next shit show that'll happen on Friday.
