003↠ ACTION/VOICE -- Chibi free for all
[ooc note: Okay, here's the deal, folks. Rather than create two posts for chibi!Sanji and risk losing my tags (because it would happen, trust me), this is the only entry I'll put up. I'm going to leave it up to you what age Sanji will be when your character(s) run into him. I put out the scenarios, and you guys run with them. |D Don't be afraid to be creative, I don't mind. Just mention the age in the subject line. If you want more than one chance to tag, create another thread, and specify the new age. |D Easy, yes? Possible ages are 11 through 20. Possible dates are February 3 through the 12. I am fine with either voice or action, though if it's voiced, it'll be assumed your character contacted Sanji through the journals first.
Ladies who volunteered to be crushed on! The applicable ages for that are 14 and up. But of course, you can interact with a younger version of Sanji if you want.
And also, bear with me on the icon front. >> There are plenty pictures of Sanji as a child and an adult, but not much in-between. U-use your imagination? ;A;]
[Nights have been rough so far, with strange dreams lingering on after his eyes have opened. And it makes him feel... different, somehow, like his life has altered in leaps and bounds. Skills that weren't accessible before, come to him easily. There are recipes in his head that shouldn't be there. He almost wishes he could tell someone about them; maybe one of the crew, eventually. They're nice enough, and have been more than accommodating, taking him in like this.
These thoughts are heavy to carry, but he's still a young boy suddenly trapped in a weird town with weird things. His attention isn't meant to dwell on problems for long. The goal to find Zeff eventually lessens to a dull ache, and Sanji busies himself with exploration: this Seventh Heaven restaurant, for one, and maybe the grocery store. He visits the item shop on a the fickle whim of a curious child, and eventually finds his way to the forest. He won't run away, though. He promised himself he wouldn't try anymore.]
[And in just a few days, Sanji finds himself forced to leave adolescence behind. It's more than a little obvious that something isn't right. While the crew has probably mentioned the nature of experiments, all the explanations in the world aren't gonna make this any less awkward, as he speeds through growth spurts and into sore, lanky limbs. He's grumpy half the time, flustered as well... which seems to happen like clockwork, whenever a pretty girl is nearby. He spends the majority of these days as red as a tomato and resorting to petty insults if it will get people out of his hair. When it gets hard to control, he seeks solitude to practice stretching and single-sparring. Or perhaps Nami. She's going through the same thing, too.
House 6 and Seventh Heaven are still his main places of solace. He considers himself a worthy enough cook by now, though he will often yield to Yukito's directions. He's broadened his explorations, however; he heavily frequents the forestplains, and will use the teleporters to sneak off to the ocean, when he feels like it.]
[Given enough time, the strangest of circumstances stop being strange, and turn into a compromised status-quo. Sanji barely gives any attention to his nightly dreams now - they come and he changes, both mentally and physically. His temper is still hot as ever, but slowly being tempered by a knack for cunning and kindness. Even his initial anxiety around women has all but disappeared - he eagerly greets them now, with what the residents might note to be his usual enthusiasm. Still rough around the edges and prone to silliness (or hormone spikes), but that's Sanji for you.
He knows the entire village layout, and you can find him anywhere: item shop, grocery, clothing store, battle dome, forest, ocean... He finds a reason to visit them all because sometimes, it's easier walking blindly, even when you don't really have a place to go to.]

[House 6 - age 12]
Night two is as bad as night one, the young chef-in-training soon finds out. A little worse, in fact. Between the nightmares and the flow of memories he isn't sure what to do with, he wakes up shaken and confused, and incredibly lonely in the realization that he's no closer to going home than he was a day ago.
He stays in bed for a few minutes, weighing the pros and cons of sneaking outside, or staying here - or just lurking in someone's room until he's calm enough to sleep. Chopper crosses his mind first; he let Sanji sleep with him the night prior. But as tempting as the idea is, he ultimately dismisses it, not wanting to push his luck. Nami, too, he considers... but no, she's a dear friend he doesn't want to disturb. He doesn't want to disturb any of them.
It's not enough to keep him in his room, though. His door creaks open, and Sanji stealthily tip-toes his way for the kitchen first. It's only on a whim that he glances up all the way across the living room, at the closed door belonging to Vivi, and in the span of a heartbeat, his trajectory switches.
He tries not to think about how guilty he'll feel if she wakes up. This will take five minutes, tops; just long enough to feel grounded again, and not afraid to sleep.
He opens and closes the door softly, masking a breath of relief when the door doesn't creak. For a second, he thinks this might work. Ten minutes, he reminds himself--
And then he lets out a yelp of surprise when something warm and furry brushes against his leg.] A-aah!
[House 6 - age 12]
[She reaches over to flip on the lamp at her bedside, and comprehension dawns at the sight of the light glinting off blond hair. Vivi sits up in bed, concern plain on her face.] What's wrong, Sanji-san?
[House 6 - age 12]
What is that?!
[House 6 - age 12]
This is Pumpkin. She's y-- [She cuts herself off before telling Sanji that Pumpkin is his cat; in her experience with Nami and Sanji over the last few days, that sort of thing tended to confuse them.] She's nice.
[She smooths the comforter on her bed to make a place for him to sit, and beckons Sanji over.]
[House 6 - age 12]
What is she? A cat? [Pause]
... And did you really name her after a fruit? [Lame, Vivi.]
[House 6 - age 12]
[She just laughs at the comment about Pumpkin's name.] Actually, I'm not the one who named her. [She kind of agrees with you there, mini-Sanji. >.>]
[House 6 - age 12]
... Hehehe... [Just for that, he purposely doesn't pet her until she meows noisily and butts at his hand] She's so bossy. [But fine, he pets her, giggling again when she starts purring once more]
I've only seen cats in pictures.
[House 6 - age 12]
Cats are special where I come from. We always had a lot of them in the palace. [She strokes Pumpkin's back, careful not to get in Sanji's way as he pets her, gingerly at first, but growing more confident. She'll give him a little time before she asks what happened to bring him to her room in the first place.]
[House 6 - age 12]
[House 6 - age 12]
Actually... [She gives a somewhat apologetic laugh.] My father is the king of Alabasta.
[House 6 - age 12]
[Point] You're a princess!! [Sparkle]
[House 6 - age 12]
Yes. [Vivi flaps a hand dismissively.] But that doesn't matter much here. Alabasta is a long way from Luceti.
[House 6 - age 12]
What's it like, though? Your kingdom! Is it big? [He scratches Pumpkin behind her ears again when she starts feeling left out, now butting at his chin, but his attention is fixated on Vivi] You must have a lot of people to cook for you.
[Yeah, he was gonna tie cooking into this somehow]
[House 6 - age 12]
Alabasta is a desert kingdom near the middle of the first half of the Grand Line. It's fairly big, yes. It takes up the whole island. Most of it is covered by the desert, but there are oases scattered all around, as well as a large river called the Sandora that flows right down the center of the country. It's in those places that most of the cities are built, as well as along the coast. The capital city is called Alubarna, and that's where the Royal Palace is. Where I live when I'm at home.
[She gives him a quick glance to see if he's finding this boring.]
Oh, and most of the cooking is done by our head chef, Terracotta-san. You'd like her. She's an amazing chef, and very efficient.
[House 6 - age 12]
A desert? Does this mean you don't like winter? [All the questions. All of them] And you live in the Grand Line?! [At this rate, his eyes will pop out. He starts speaking without thinking]
So you've heard about All Blue?
[House 6 - age 12]
Well... [She gives a light laugh.] I don't mind it, and there are fun things to do like sliding and playing in the snow, but... [sheepish smile] ...I wish it didn't last quite so long. I'm not used to the cold.
[Moving onnn...] Yes, the Grand Line. And... [she leans in and drops her voice conspiratorially] ...I have. In fact a very dear friend of mine told me all about it. [She pauses, and adds with a giggle:] His name is Mr Prince.
[House 6 - age 12]
[And then suddenly, she has his complete attention. Again. His voice ends up matching hers in volume]
Whoa, a prince knows about All Blue? [C-can he be this person when he grows up? ;; Is that allowed?]
[House 6 - age 12]
Yes. A very gallant one. The kind who saves princesses.
[House 6 - age 12]
[House 6 - age 12]
Were you having trouble sleeping?
[House 6 - age 12]
'M sorry for waking you.
[House 6 - age 12]
I don't mind, Sanji-san. [She places a hand lightly on his back, patting him a little. If he wants to volunteer anything she'll gladly listen, but she won't question him further.]
[House 6 - age 12]
He mutters quietly, in soft misery, as his eyes sting with wetness] I miss home.
[House 6 - age 12]
[She pauses, not sure what the right thing is to say.] I know it's not home, but we all care for you very much, and... and... [She falters a bit, wishing she knew how to make him feel better.] If you ever need anything, let me know, and I'll do my best to help you. [Because you did the same for me.] Because we're nakama.
[House 6 - age 12]
And very suddenly, with violent despair, he shakes his head. Startled, Pumpkin abandons his lap the same moment Sanji brings his knees up to hide his face]
W-why would you be nakama with a stupid kid?!
