This post is to be used specifically for one-on-one appointments and interactions with concasse. o/ Probably because we're too busy/lazy to make a post or a separate log. [written], [voice/video], and [action] are all fair game - just mark the method of communication and the date in the subject line.

[She's satisfied with that, and smiles.]

All right!

[She'd serve for him, but it's his kitchen. His knife. His territory. And so she pauses, unsure.]

[Sanji, meanwhile, is far too used to his role as server to stop. It doesn't even cross his mind that she'd plan to switch the routine. While Vivi pauses, he grabs the knife again, making a clean cut right down the middle of the cake, and only stops when he notes that Vivi seems to be stuck in hesitation for some reason]

Something wrong, Vivi-chan?

[She shakes her head, content to let Sanji serve now that he's begun. She will, however, wait to try the slice he hands her until he's had the first bite, watching to see what he thinks of it.]

[As he knows what's expected of him, once Vivi has her plate, the chef picks off a corner piece of his slice and delicately places it in his mouth. Chewing. Taaaasting.

o_o] This is delicious.

[This isn't an attempt to appease her pride, either. He notes she probably added in some juice for flavor, but it also helped to keep the dessert soft and moist.]

[Vivi beams, though she assumes he's probably exaggerating a little about the taste. Still, she'll take the compliment gracefully.] Thank you, Sanji-san! I'm glad you like it.

[Now she'll spear her own bite onto her fork and taste it with a thoughtful expression. Better than she hoped, really!]

[Always so modest, Vivi. Sanji, on the other hand, is not - at least not when it comes to her - and carries on after another large bite]

Ah? It's really not anything special.

[It is pretty good, though. Nomming away.]

[... Nothing special, eh? He chews again, mulling quietly over his thoughts before he speaks again. There's a distinct lack of frivolousness in his tone.]

The only person who really goes out of her way to cook me anything is Xion. Sometimes Miyabi-chan. [It's not a complaint. This is his job, and he loves cooking for other people - only it's ironic that the price he pays is not often experiencing the other side as often as he'd like. If someone else makes him food, it's usually because he can't - not because they thought he'd appreciate it.

He stares at the cake proper now, with it's simplistic coat of frosting and it's loving commitment. He smiles]

It's not often this happens so... it is special to me. Thank you, Vivi-chan.

[Vivi's smile softens as she listens to his words, and when he's finished, she nods. That side of things hadn't occurred to her. After a slight pause, she answers simply:] You're welcome, Sanji-san.

[He's pleased by the simple reaction, smiling fondly and going back to his cake. Eventually, he'll migrate to the fridge and get them two glasses of milk]

Thank you. [She takes the offered glass and sips. The milk is a perfect compliment to the cake, and she takes another few bites in silence, punctuating them with sips of milk.]

[A little longer and she pauses, leaning her chin on one hand.] Twenty-two, right?

[Mouth a little full, he simply nods at that, curious as to why she asked. He hopes Usopp didn't teach her anymore "tricks".]

[Vivi laughs at the mildly suspicious look that washes over his face.] Just making sure I had it right! [With people getting pulled here from all across time, she sometimes mixes these things up.]

I suppose I could've gotten more candles, but I didn't want to go overboard.

[In his defense, Vivi's the one who made him dance like an Alabastian dancer in a harmless game of Truth or Dare. It pays to be cautious!]

To be honest, I'm probably only a few months over twenty-one. [A shrug; he's sure she understands what he's talking about. Blasted time travel] But I think one candle is perfect~! Less shit to blow out.

[Y'know, if you don't use trick candles... B|]

[Vivi nods at that first; she gets it.] More room for frosting, too.

[She plucks the lone candle from the cake and studies it thoughtfully before giggling.]

...does Luffy-san know about these candles? [Why no, she's not thinking it might be funny to try and fool him too when his birthday rolls around; wherever would you get that idea?]

Vivi-chan, it's Luffy. [He's not calling his captain stupid! He's calling his captain oblivious.] He'd called it a mystery candle and eat it with the cake.

[A look of mild horror passes over her face at the mental image of Luffy swallowing a large piece of cake whole, topped with a sparking candle.]

...you may be right.

[Okay, discarding that idea.]

[Thanks to the look she's wearing, Sanji has to fight not to snort and choke on his milk.

He is largely unsuccessful]

[Vivi gives him a moment to make sure he recovers, then holds the candle out to Sanji.]

I'll give this to you, then. [Happy birthday? She thinks he might find a use for it.]

[Bahahaha]

And she even got me a present~! The very model of a wonderful lady~! [He'll find some way to make someone's life hell with this candle, mark his words]

[Sanji, you are entirely too easy to please. Vivi giggles.]

I'm sorry I didn't have time to wrap it.

Nonsense~! I'll treasure it forever~!

[Pocketing that. Damn, he wish Usopp were here - so he could kick his ass for encouraging Vivi down the path of evil, and then ask him all the diabolical things you can do with a trick candle]

And you think we should save the rest of the cake for the crew?

If you'd like. It's your cake, so it's your decision.

...if you want to share it with the others, you should set aside at least one more piece for yourself, though. [Otherwise she has a feeling he won't get any more of it. :|]

Aah, right. [His expression says he has the same thought as her. In that case, he'll steal a piece to save for later, fetching a clean plate to put it on.]

I better hold Luffy back so everyone else can get a slice.

[Vivi nods her approval that Sanji's saved a piece for himself, then looks at what remains.]

Hm. Maybe I should have made a larger cake.
