[Shirasu isn't a person Sanji has made a habit of talking to, but apparently it's time for that to change after the goddamn mess that was a few hours ago. He'll check to make sure Natsuo is alive and well before hunting the white-haired man down, wherever he might be.

And he'll... try to be cordial. Whatever the fuck happened, Sanji doubts was the fault of the "volunteers". Something went wrong and they dealt with it the best they could. Even still, the chef would prefer getting another story to cross-check with Natsuo's (bless that kid but he's such an idiot)]

[Direct and an asshole: the worst combo. That said, he's not without a heart, already moving away from the guy's potential trauma for another question.]

Did the place you guys end up look anything like the castle?

[wagashis]

I assume it was part of the castle, but it was a passageway I've never seen-- it eventually led to a hearth we were meant to re-light.

[thanks for not prying about the weird illusions, he appreciates it.]

The entire thing was covered in ice; I don't know that it'd be recognizable if warming the place up melts it.

So that's why the castle suddenly warmed up.

[or he's assuming such. Of course, he wonders why this mysterious hearth went cold in the first place]

Then how the hell did Natsuo get hurt? His... illusion?

It must have been. To tell you the truth, I don't recall exactly what happened... I was-- busy with my own.

[his attention is very clearly elsewhere despite the conversation, his frown deepening at the thought.]

The next thing I knew, he was bloodied and screaming, and that got my attention.

And then? How did you two get out? Did the door just suddenly appear?

The door was there, we were just distracted from getting to the other end of the passage before. I carried him out, but he insisted he could walk before we reached the final door and left.

[which is why he didn't exit carrying natsuo.]

...if I'd known it would deposit us like that, I would have picked him back up.

Natsuo's stubborn, he would've fought you the entire way if he didn't get to walk.

[Sigh.]

Any idea why the door appeared in front of you two?

[wagashis]

None at all. It simply appeared, and I wasn't able to avoid entering.

[and he doesn't sound awfully happy about it. this place and its compulsions are a pain.]

Alright...

[He tilts his head, looking at the ceiling. Sure, there's more questions he could ask, but he figures they're all gonna be different flavors of "fuck if I know, it was weird"]

Tch, I hate the magic in this shitty castle.
