[The announcement comes early afternoon, after Sanji has tracked down all available housemates to share the heavy news; after spending thirty minutes alone in an empty room, leaning against the door frame and smoking while he stares dead-eyed at the stripped bed, and struggles to remind himself the tray of food he brought with him needs to go back into the fridge; after telling himself around breakfast, when she didn’t come to join them at the table, that she was probably in her mikan grove for the morning, and it wouldn’t be gentlemanly to disturb her; after waking up at the crack of dawn, grumpy and disheveled, thinking that at least with the Valentine’s Day shit over, he and his nakama could look forward to some semblance of peace.

His expression isn't grieved. Nor his tone. He keeps his gaze steady and serious] You all better wish her the best, you hear?

[He'll stick around to answer anyone who responds, then check on his nakama. And after his duty is finished, he's heading for the sea, and will stay there well into the night.

He's done all the talking he can manage. Now? He just wants to be left alone.]

[Ace and Nami... It seems as if everyone is leaving. Fading home and back to where they should be. At least for Nami there was a future. A wide-open ocean. Nakama. For Ace. Peace, she supposes. But she's not much one to think about what's waiting out there.

She's in her room at the moment and will move down to the living room to be there for anyone to talk to if they wish it, but over the journals, she'll add her own voice.]

Of course I'll wish her the best. I'm sure she's happy to be home, except that she couldn't take all her crew with her.

[There's a pause in which Sanji takes a breath and levels his voice again]

[No, he isn't aware of the strife between them, or what conclusion they found for themselves. But he can keep in mind the good times]

[Sanji is in the kitchen, a cup of tea in hand and on his way back to his room. Going to work... no, he can't today. The weight of loss hasn't caught up to him, and won't for a few days yet, but it requires all his energy remaining steady. He only stops when he catches sight of Robin]

[Loaded question but at the same time a simple one. Is she alright? Is he? They both know the answers to that. Yes and no. Relieved and feeling Luceti is a little emptier than it was before. She's not sure whether she should thank the Malnosso for Nami's release or hate them for it.]

What should we do, Sanji-kun?

[she speaks lightly though it's a question. Memorialize? Remember? Forget? Move on? Mourn? Let go? She's not entirely sure if she wants to do any of that. She's not sure if she wants to do anything except try not to think of who might be next. Who might be last here. Alone]

[Unfortunately, they never did get to talk things over, so for as much as Vash knows, Nami left not overly pleased with him. Still friends, but still a rift between them.]

[It's been a long time since he's uttered that particular nautical blessing. But it's appropriate as a farewell.

[...Well. This is not what Perona thought she'd see today. One after the other, it seems like. She never did much like Nami, to be perfectly honest, and she's never really had true nakama (Moria's crew definitely didn't count), so she can't relate but...she does care about Sanji and Zoro, so she does understand it must hurt them, all of them, to lose someone like that. She knows how close this crew is to one another, it's very obvious, and didn't take two years to figure out.

And while she wants to say something to help him, to comfort him, Perona's not exactly in the best of moods herself. She was close to Sabo, who left recently, too, and it hurt. It must be the same for them now. They must be feeling so much worse, though, so she understands and says nothing. She'll step back this one time, give them so air and deal with her own troubles. Maybe a few days, or however long it takes, and she'll check up on him. Just like he usually does.]

She went home earlier. Or did she come back and went home again? Because if she went home again she might return again as well, you see? And...

[Loki silences. Wait...]

And of course I wish Nami San the best. Perhaps she masters portals, you see?

[There's a long silence when Miyabi comes across this message, as if someone just took her voice, her very breath, away and out of her grasp. Gone? Nami's really gone? She takes a few deep breaths, to steady herself and to try to calm down, but it doesn't work. There are already tears brimming in her eyes, threatening to overflow. She has to be quick, has to find her voice. It's sure to fade into cries and sobs soon if she's not quick, and Sanji doesn't need to hear that.]

Th...thank you. For t-telling us, San-Sanji-nii. [Deep breath, deep breath--] I'm sorry...

[Another friend gone. Another long time person disappearing and it isn't time for the New Feather cycle to start yet so...]

[Sanji uses the voice to be neutral. Kotetsu uses it with a touch of disbelief. Maybe a little ache. It's hard not too feel that way, after all he'd let her go through. Because of him, in his mind. Always.]

[Hearing his own voice echoed back like that... Sanji bites hard on his cigarette before speaking]

[His assumptions match Sanji's - and it's the reason the chef refuses to hold onto hope that he might see her again in this place.

That left an awful ring in his head. She had been a presence in this place for so long, he forgot that their own existence here was never permanent. She was one of the first people he originally encountered here afterall...

But where she has gone...it's better there than here, right? It doesn't stop this feeling of emptiness he felt to lose someone he considered a very close acquaintance of his. No one has really left this much of an impact on him in a very long time.]

I'm sure she's happy to be able to sail the ocean freely again. I wish her a safe journey, wherever the wind and sea will take her.

[Just a gasp at first—this wasn't what she expected, when the message began. When is it ever what you expect though, right? She's frozen for a moment and then snaps the journal closed, closes her bedroom door so the others can hear her, crawls into her bed--and cries for a little bit.
